kitchen conversation (he's so, so right)

My spouse (after listening to lengthy rant #342 yesterday): "Not to excuse that person's bad behaviour, but a lot of things piss you off these days."

Me: "True."

Spouse: "Oh! We forgot to put the compost out!"

Me: (String of expletives, unprintable in a blog my children might read).

Spouse (Meaningful silence)

Then we both burst out laughing.

I need to get some perspective.

But at least I can still laugh at myself.

Oo, do I relate to this (both the crankiness and the in-sync spouse).

It's amazing what chronic pain does to one's personality. I wish I could say it is a change for the better in my case... but it's all too obvious that I'd be lying...

sigh.

Yeah- pissed off is my default these days. But as long as I can laugh, I figure I'm OK. And yes - the loving hand that holds the mirror and makes me laugh.
